Forums Down, Sybit Seaport opens doors.
Posted Friday, January 31, 2003 by Comit
In case you're wondering, the forums are down (again!). But, if it's like any of the other times it went down it shouldn't be long.
In the meantime, you can check out Ferruccio's luxurious Sybit Seaport located at 1770.90S 3624.53E 90. Citizens may build a small~medium sized boat there upon request.
The Real World Update
Posted Friday, January 31, 2003 by Comit
What is this? swcity.net is planning a few new things to report on the front page news. SW Chris will be posting news about AW now; and Captain MAD Mike may post news about interesting real world news no more than once a week. However I'll be taking CMM's job for the first couple weeks, and I'll open a poll in the forums where you can vote to keep doing real world news or to drop it. Then I'm hoping CMM'll take over. Now with that out of the way, here's there news:
AOL looses 99 Billion Dollars.
Kazaa sues the RIAA, the same company that brought down Napster and oppose CD Burners, saying that the music industry is ignorant of digital age.
Playstation 3 is revealed. Said to run at 4 ghz.
Here's a nifty little website to see how busy and healthy the internet is.
You can now play Simcity Classic online ^_^!
Happy Birthday ^,^

So what's going on in SW'ian land?
Posted Monday, January 27, 2003 by Comit
Termani Island - The second biggest island of Vornox's expansion for Cypris Creek has started a little urban area next to the bridge leading to Sybit Island.
Sybit Island, south - Ferruccio has started a seaport on the southern tip next to the Dionic Bridge. CSWC hopes to turn this into the first non-destroyed (lol) colonized area of Sybit.
Orton Strip Mall, east - While the climax of production has slowed down, there are still a couple of shops in the work. There's also been some touch ups in the older areas of OSM.
Optimum Island - Production has been really booming here, especially on the west side. The island has also been acting as a gate for new residents lately.
Silver Valley - Straight from Nutinmuch himself: "Silver Valley has grown after a nice sixed Forest known as "Salty Forest" Sprung up. Around this forest will be a Urban Center full of Skyscrapers and markets, similar to OSM. If you would like to build around this area, contact Nutinmuch."
And for those who haven't been around for the past month, Nimbus Land sports some new various builds, as well as a urban area in *Palm Grove* (believe it or not) just north of Meta Bay. And there are even rumors of OniLink about to spring back into action ;)
Overwhelmed by all these names? Download the SW City map in the downloads section. Speaking of such, I've been working on finalizing the version 3 of the map, though I've had some trouble getting it to look good enough for release.
In other news, a Nimbusian driver for a Loggers delivery truck was hijacked and destroyed by a herd of wild Virgils.
SW City takes home AWEC award!
Posted Saturday, January 25, 2003 by Comit
It's old news to some, but new news to us. SW City Barn Raising (the biodome) took home best event of the year, hosted by the AWEC. Goober King asked me what I thought about it, and I was like "what?". Apparently we won, but no one told us =P
Congrats to SW Chris who came up with the idea.

I grabbed my toursitm camera last night and decided to travel to each of the nine sub-sections of SW City to take some pictures. The pictures were developed and uploaded to each district page! Check it out, there are some beautiful pics depicting the various areas of SW City.
I also decided to to add the Esperion Isles to the Palm District page. Enjoy. :-)

(Updated) New waters bring life to The Vastlands
Posted Tuesday, January 14, 2003 by Comit
After a few months of the ocean expanding, a city scout spotted new forestry in The Vastlands (the land inbetween Vishara's River, Skexis River and the ocean). Hundreds and hundreds of coords of Kithicorian type forest cover the southwestern corner now, and is spreading fast into surrounding areas of the huge river island. SW'ians are eager to begin exploring the forest for whatever nougats might discovered...
The first person to find the Qwerdy's Shrine tree (refer to the forestry guide) will have the forest named after him/her.
UPDATE: And the winner is...Mr John! But because "Mr John Forest" doesn't sound right, he named it Tiberius Forest.
An updated map, at last!

PG's most famous build turns 1 year old!
Posted Saturday, January 4, 2003 by Mike
Thats right, folks! The infamous house of boonie turned one year old on January 3rd, 2003! *everyone cheers*
And how fitting, that on the same day, one of my best builds in a long time was started (my currently unnamed office complex). Well, at least *I* think its one of my best builds.
And on the same note, the "special edition" Lincoln Logs, found in most older Loggers Restauraunts, has officially been going on for 2.5 years. Keep it up Loggers!
SW, the clan, is back in business
Posted Friday, January 3, 2003 by Comit
Well it's a little weird for me, but SW, as in the clan, is back again and being ran by ex-vice president Nitro-Excell and is being played in Kali. Please welcome Scarab traffic as our forums will be a temporary "staging area" for the people that SW-Nitro-Excell and SW-Mase are rallying. It's also a bit weird as I've said "there will be no more new SWs" in AW. So if you always wanted a legit SW tag in your name, now might be the time.
UPDATE: Also as a part of the Scarab revival, the players are trying to get SeeMePlayMe gaming network to add Scarab to their game network since, according to some, Kali sucks. Email them and request support for Scarab. If your interested in downloading Scarab, ask Nitro on ICQ or check the forums. ICQ - 21098484
