This windswept island is the result of volcanic activity. Rising nearly 100m up shear cliffs the flat topped island is a plug over a dormant magma chamber which has erupted several times before the corporate era. At one time it was the site of the largest shig farm in the metaverse but operations have long since ceased. Due to its remote location and relatively small population, Whidbey Island has been the site of a SW Army base researching naval reconnaissance using rigid airships. Elsewhere on the island are the remains of the Whidbey light station whose first order Fresnel lens once projected light nearly 5km out to sea. The lens long missing was recently found in a Mercer Island warehouse and calls for the reconstruction of the light have been constant ever since.
