AW4.2 Goes Live

The long-awaited Active Worlds version 4.2 has went live in the main universe today after being in beta for the last couple months in its own separate universe. For a list of changes to the browser, check out the ActiveWiki page.

The Inevitable Delay.. was only 1 Day Long!

So, to no ones surprise, the release of AW4.2 beta was delayed for an unspecified period of time. Flagg released an official statement on the AW Forums.

One day later, AW4.2 has been released to the public in the form of a beta universe. If you haven’t been there already, you can check out Flagg’s most recent official statement and download the universe for yourself. Be sure to check out the CAV system in its infancy.. so far it’s looking pretty good.

AW4.2 Release Date Announced

The release date of the long-awaited Active Worlds 4.2 was publicly announced on the ActiveWiki today by lead programmer chrispeg. As it stands now, the proposed date is Monday, April 21st. This release should include many of the heavily talked-about features such as Custom Avatars, picture mipmapping, upgraded signs (fonts) and outgoing telegram storage.

AWE Build 86 Released

A somewhat important update to AWE is now available. This update conforms to the picture tag changes made in the recent OY update. Road1 and Flat8 were also enhanced. You can get it here.

Alphamapper Updated

Alphamapper, the high-powered mapping application for Alphaworld, has been updated. The first update since it’s release shows all objects built on and before January 29th, 2008. Some massive SW City updates include the Syntax Estates shoreline, Avatar and Grinsdale Mountains, Rising Glen, Scoperta Forest development, Town Square Park changes and the Zelená Islands and surrounding outerlands.
