Wooo over a month without any news, what’s going on here?! Well not much as you can see. Seems like everyone has gone on Summer Hiatus at the same time so it’s been a bit slow. Though there’s some building going on down south along the southern shorelines. Check it out here. I’m sure things will start picking up soon enough though 😉
So there’s been quite a bit of construction all over lately. Here’s an overview:
Vornox has been working in north Cypris Creek on the “next-gen East Ending” project. No details were skimped here. It looks pretty outstanding.
Ferruccio has announced his latest project – the “Wing House”, located just outside Town Square Park. I wouldn’t hesitate a moment to declare it the most beautiful house AW has to offer. Check it out!
CMM has been converting Meta Bay’s port from a small naval hub to a fully loaded seaport. You can see it at 2447S 3928E 0.16a.
New developments are spurring in the new Saddle Creek area along the north coast. Fresh, innovative ideas as always.
As for myself, I been toiling away reconstructing Main Street, details here.
Had a ton of truncated files that truncated themselves for no reason. Dunno why, but those have been replaced and the forum is back up.
Yes.. we know the forum is down. It’s been giving us some problems lately, with it just randomly breaking. Gonna have to wait till the reuioners get back home for it to be fixed up ’cause I have nooo idea what is wrong. >,< Comit can usually fix it.
Well, the 2006 CY Awards have finally been held – a week later than expected – on the 1st of July (otherwise known as Maple Syrup and Mounties Day).
SW City and its assorted retinue of well-wishers and hangers-on managed to snag four of those coveted citrusy trophies, including a very special Lifetime Achievement Award (Best-Dressed Hotep), given to none other than our own Central District Governor SW Comit!
SW Chris snatched Best Building for his mind-blowing Back to the Future Recreation in East Ending, while Comit picked up Best Software for Alphaworld Enhanced, doing very well for someone attending a wedding (some complete twit accepted both of his awards for him – whoever gave that idiot a presenter job, anyway?)
And while Goober King vehemently denies being affiliated with SW City in any way, the fact that most of his regular guests just happen to SW’ian allows me to plant a green-and-blue-with-crosshairs flag on his Best Media Presentation award.
Other award recipients of special mention are the wacky crew of Off World who grabbed Best Town, Stacee getting Best Object Design (for her sterling work renovating Active Worlds’ biggest blocked drain- er, I mean AWGate ^_^;;) AND a third of the Best Leader statue (the head and right arm), Strike Rapier being awarded Best Bot Design for his weapons of mass surveillance, and of course who can forget Lensman, dreamer2 and tunablues’ Lifetime awards.
Looking forward to next year – hopefully it’ll get done without any false starts this time. *menaces Chrispeg*
