Robbie recently launched his new versatile text-to-image sign generator, and generously made it publically available. We now have the script uploaded to www.swcity.net/sign/. See Robbie’s instructions here. See an in-world example here, or see a screenshot here…and see here for a list of available fonts on our domain. Phew!
Pretty much pwnz this
Yeah, thats basically the sweetest thing ever.
It’d be real awesome if we could get em split across two signs for quick n’ dirty business labels
Using the X axis offset, you can, just takes some pratice
Deserves more attention this
Didn’t occure to me at first but this script is great for personalizing pictures.
For example I have a picture being used on a door object…a picture of a door. I can make that picture the background image and write directly on the door, like “employees only” or “office of Sam Snacks”.
Or if you have a wall built out of picture based textures, you can write directly on the wall
a fonts display has been made available here http://www.swcity.net/academy/index.php?n=Main.SWCityPublicFontDirectory
Heh I figured that sign was just a png file… never bothered to look closer.
Pretty awesome that
Wrote the guide on the academy:

*big bump* if you used this script and used the jpg background texture, you may have noticed its not working anymore. Not sure why this happened but here’s the solution:
– remove the .jpg in the url, it’s assumed
– include http:// in the url
– the background cannot be the last specified argument in the url
I didn’t make this script or else I’d try to just fix these problems. Use the workarounds till something better comes along ;P
