Chris – can you contact our host and allow them to increase the memory available to run PMWiki? It may be a host issue. Forward them the addresses of the Swiki and Academy and tell them it just stopped working one day.

There’s been a few updates since I last tried fixing this. Updated again. Still a no go. But what’s interesting is that the .php file which reports being out of memory isn’t always the same. I’m starting to believe more and more than this is a hosting issue. Need to contact those bums

It is a hosting issue. I’ve looked up this error and read a few message boards and it’s a host-side problem.

Please tell me exactly what I need to tell the host, or I can give you the username and password to the support portal and you can create the ticket. Since you’re more familiar with the problem that might be best, but it’s up to you.

“It just stopped working” isn’t specific enough.

That’s literally what happened, though.

Might help to attach the sources that led you to suspect a host-issue. Beyond the error statement and that, we don’t really have much else to go on.

Also what troubleshooting steps did you take to fix it? I don’t know this information in detail because I didn’t perform the work, so I can’t pass it along. Did you upgrade the wiki? Did you route through the code to see what module was breaking down? And so on. About what date did things stop working?

The wiki was upgraded and also rolled into a default state, without add-ons and such. There is no particular module breaking down. Refresh it enough times and you’ll see it’s sorta random, indicating it’s likely a resource management issue. Not sure when it quit working…there was a thread about it in the staff forum though :X

O_O kinda didn’t…expect that to work! Hosts are usually so quick to dismiss php problems as user/scripter error. Did they say what it was?
You are.
RIP Academy and SWiki
Wish I knew what was wrong. I’ve tried to fix it a few times now ?_?
Do we have the latest wiki software installed?
Yes. Or at least we did when I last tried to fix it a month or so ago.
curious; how are the sites hosted (shared / VPS) and what were the attempted fixes?
Yes.
? i do not understand
