Getting Around
Travel in SW City is fun because of its vast size. Roam the land in a free-for-all adventure across five districts. Transit options range from practical to fantastical and you’ll often need to use multiple services to get where you’re going.
Teleport Circle
Right next to where you spawn into Town Square Park is a secluded area known as the Teleport Circle. This technological travel henge is ringed with some of SW City’s most popular attractions.
Click on the name of a destination on the central stone circle and the portal next to you will light up with a tantalizing glimpse of where you’re headed. All you have to do is walk through. Careful! It’s a one-way trip if you don’t know how to use the Back Button while holding shift.
To get to the Teleport Circle, walk straight from the spawn point and take the first path on your left, then the first right. It’s not far.

First-timers who want quick access to famous locations
Subway
SW City’s subway system proves that underground doesn’t have to mean boring. Its uniquely designed stations actually make you feel like you’re exploring different neighborhoods underground, making it one of the most immersive travel options available.
Where else can you visit a station constructed solely for a millionaire’s private amusement or take the subway to Hyrule (complete with a connecting warp pipe to Nimbus Land)?
Hop on at Grand Central Station at the northeast end of Town Square Park, just past the clock tower. It’s free, thanks to then-Commissioner Syntax’s “abolish all fees” policy from back in the day.
Number of Stations: 33
Number of Lines: 8
Farthest Station:
Optimum Island Station
Best For:
Fast travel around the main island
Monorail
SW City’s monorail system glides passengers along two sleek maglev loops. The Central SW City Loop offers the only direct public transport to Mango Land theme park while the Syntax Estates Loop winds through the Palm and Estates districts where the scenery flies by—assuming your internet connection can keep up with the view.
Both loops converge at Grand Central Station in Town Square Park, allowing fast connection to the subway system and access to the Syntax Estates Skylane just down the street.
Number of Stations: 11
Number of Lines: 2
Best For:
Fast travel around the main island
Skylane
The Skylane Foundation keeps SW City’s elevated walkway network alive, allowing you to gain a unique perspective upon the city below.
That is, assuming you can ignore the occasional open drop-off where safety railings weren’t in the budget.
Unfortunately, many sections have been torn down for shiny new developments, leaving a patchwork of disconnected routes. But the James River Skylane still thrives thanks to its killer views of James River Falls.
Number of Entrances: 44
Number of Routes: 7
Best For:
Walking tours of classic areas of the city
Eastern Ferry
When SW City’s bureaucrats realized existing transportation wasn’t quite cutting it for island-hopping adventures, they rolled out Eastern Ferry.
The service runs year-round with daily departures from Port Cobalt. You can get there via the subway by going to the Cove Subway Station and then heading east toward the docks. Click the “Depart” sign on the ferry to head out to sea.
Number of Ports: 7
Best For:
Exploring the northern and eastern outskirts of the Scarabian Confederation
Palm Sea Ferry
Palm Sea Ferry is the oldest ferry service in SW City, having been founded by one of the original settlers on the Palm Sea.
The company has failed to update with the times (such as using the same old boat model for many, many years) and has difficulty competing with larger transportation services. The one advantage that Palm Sea Ferry has is its monopoly over tourist season in the Palm Sea region with visitors looking for an authentic travel experience on one of their old-style boats.
Number of Ports: 9
Number of Routes: 2
Best For:
Sightseeing the islands of the tropical Palm Sea
HyperGate
HyperGates transport you to a trippy liminal realm that allows quick transportation to dozens of destinations across the main island in seconds flat.
Sometimes gates will drop you out in a place where no gate actually exists. Hypergate Industries assures travelers that it’s safe even though they’re still working the kinks out of the system.
In the meantime, finding one around Town Square Park may be difficult since apparently even interdimensional engineers struggle with zoning permits.
Number of Gates: 53
Best For:
Finding out-of-the-way spots and places you’re not supposed to be
Akureyri Réseau Express Régional
Akureyri Trains (more commonly known as A-Trains or the RER) is the sole provider of long-distance passenger rail transportation in the western and southern reaches of the Scarabian Confederation. The electrified rolling stock runs on high voltage DC produced from renewable energy sources found throughout the region. It really feels like you’re just flying along the track!
The easiest access point to reach is the elevated Imperial Station, which lies 200 meters west of Town Square Park in the West Field.
Number of Stations: 23
Number of Lines: 3
Best For:
Exploring the eastern, southern, and western outskirts of the Scarabian Confederation
Backdoor Routes
Rumor has it there are ways around the city that don’t appear on any official Department of Transportation maps. If you ever find that hallway from The Matrix: Reloaded for example, then congratulations. You’ll be one of the lucky few to know of its location.
A City of Adventure
SW City is an open world whimsical metropolis with point and click adventure and walking simulator elements.
Explore a deep, dangerous cave in search of a lost city.
Discover the mysterious past of a haunted forest.
Play detective and locate a kidnapped person.
This is just a fraction of the adventuring you can do.
