SWCity.net Updated & New Times Issue
SWCity.net has a fresh coat of paint today to reflect the recent release of the AlphaMapper. Many other updates, bugfixes and optimizations have been made as well. Firefox users may notice that the bottom of the page is no longer all busted up. :/
The October Issue of the SW City Times is also out at newsstands everywhere.
AlphaMapper Released
The long-awaited mapping tool for Alphaworld (properly named AlphaMapper) has been released to the public. You can view that map at http://www.imabot.com/alphamapper/. A big thanks goes out to RoadKill and crew who put many, many hours in bringing this project to life. Congrats guys.
If you have finished the Beginner Quest…
If you have finished the Beginner Quest in the past, you should return to Colin White at the SW City Interactive Headquarters and receive the new reward he has waiting for you. That is all.
Activeworlds Exploration Demo
Following up a recent discussion for it, Chris has created a demo video for AW, showing off the environmental potential that AW offers due to its mass, free tracts of land. You can view it here on YouTube. Nice work chris!
Alphaworld Light
Just a small tid bit of news – per request, the max light radius in Alphaworld has been increased from 10m to 25m. This is big news for v4 right holders as you can use zones to darken an area and use lights to realistically light it back up.
SWI 3.1 Announced
The SW City Interactive Team has been hard at work adding new features to the board. Many who went to the Rising Glen Retreat Grand Opening Event may already know of some of the features. Phones, voicemail, land ownership badges! Click here for release notes.
Interactive Reaches 600 Members
Yesterday, the SW City Interactive system registered it’s 600th member, killor! We welcome anyone who hasn’t signed up to do so, as there are a ton of cool things to do as a member such as quests, collecting items and just generally interacting with characters around the city.
In the last few weeks, Interactive has seen a substantial amount of behind-the-scenes development. This is all leading up to a big public release of some new developments that will add a new dynamic to the entire Interactive System. Look for these new developments to be released to the public in the next week or so.
Rising Glen Retreat Grand Opening Event This Weekend!
Some real estate news has come in today: Rising Glen Incorporated has announced the grand opening of a new residential development in the Southern Highlands. The new area, named Rising Glen Retreat lies outside of Obsidian Cove, a newly established settlement in this wilderness area of the Outerlands.
Rising Glen Retreat is the first privately owned residential development opened since Castle Pines Country Club was released on Sybit Island, and the managers of the new neighborhood have big plans in store. This first development, being one of several planned building phases, has vacancies for 18 builders. The neighborhood is situated in a wilderness paradise, and has a very rural feel to it.
Any builders interested in exploring Rising Glen Retreat are asked to come to the grand opening, on Sunday, October 7, 2007 at 5pm VRT. To do so, simply join Hyper Anthony at that time.
You can read the rest of the announcement here.
