Oakdale joins the SR

Everyone help us welcome the newest town to the Scarabian Republic.. Oakdale! The city staff has now moved into their slice of the forum so get over there and say hi. As for the city in-world, it is located at AWTeen 900s 2600e so make sure to drop in there as well.

AW 4.1 Hits SW City

With the closing of the V4s_r_us building contest, most of SW City’s staff has been graced with v4 object rights. This means you can expect to see particle emitters, zones, movers, and all the good stuff that comes with ’em to be seen around SW City soon. It’s like a new era, wooo! 😀

Results from December’s AWVote:

What is your favorite building world? Alphaworld wins that, at 63 votes, followed by AWteen at 32. I was honestly expecting AWteen to win that one.

Why is Alphaworld your favorite? All answers were split well, but huge tracks of land was the winner at 22 votes, free building at 16, and history at 14.

Should we have a roaming GZ? 67 people think so, 42 do not.

New District, new Governor

For the first time in 6 years, SW City brings in the new year with the promoting of Espilae to the SW City Administration, making him a city governor. Espilae has decided to name his new district Shores District.

We applaud Espilae for his consistent efforts in communtiy promotion and working hard in greater community projects, as well as being very active in always coming up with new and innovative ideas for the city.

We welcome you to the Shores District grand opening party next friday during the Goober Zone, at 11PM VRT next Friday.

New Staff, New Precinct

As my first act as Governor, I am accepting Hyper Anthony’s request that his land grant, Southern Highlands enter Shores District as SW City’s first new precinct in a long while. This makes him part of the Management team, and SW City staff.

For the first time in a loooong time, a new issue of the SW City Times has been released a week after the previous issue. I’ve been a little lacking on the releases this year so I figured I’d do at least one more by the end of the year.

SW City Builders Academy Re-Release

The ol’ SW City Builders Academy has officially been re-released after a few months of on-and-off work as a brand new website tonight! The new format contains 5x the information over the last Academy website and now sports a much more updated look.

Some Website Modifications

I did a bit of work on the website this afternoon which included the following updates:

  • Rearranged the navbar and removed some unimportant pages.

  • AW Links now located on the Builders Academy website.

  • More code streamlining, allowing for faster site updating.

  • New website title.

  • Added the two new toolbars to the Downloads page.

I still might rearrange the main page right-hand sidebar to be a little more organized and current… so stay tuned.

The visitor counter at Town Square Park has reached the 10,000 mark today. The counter was started December 18th, 2005, about a year ago. Wooo 😀
