Subway Updates
Currently File Island doesn’t have a sub-station but it should be done soon. Mazenda’s station is connected through the Miners Tavern, so go check it out. The map has updated as well, so use that to see how they are connected in.
Alphaworld back up
AW is back (shortly after the news post below was posted). Nothing has changed though, and AW Mapper is still down.
AlphaWorld Down…
As you all know, AlphaWorld has been down for a couple days now. Comit and others are speculating that they are moving it to a newer hard drive (which means mapper updates.. mapper is down also, which is a clue). Hopefully AW comes up as soon as possible but in the mean time, visit Zklipse world. It’s Vornox’s world that a few SW’ians have been hanging out in and building.
Oh, you can also visit JACOB AND SW AND VORNOX CITY in Jacob world. We are thinking about closing SW City and working on this new one which is better planned and more carefully designed.
Vote for SW City
Vote for SW City before the end of the month. All details can be found here.
Wedding Bells a comin’
A big congratulations to Espilae and Archergirl who today announced they’ll be having a VR wedding, and will take place in SW City! ^_^
A new church will be built for the event. For details and updates, check out the forum thread about it here.
Hmmm *wonders if Arche’s last name will be Esperion then?*
Besburn River Complete!
Started October 30th, 2002, Besburn River was initiated as a long term project to physically connect Horizon City to SW City. After countless hours slaving away on the project over the course of time, it’s finally reached it’s destination. On June 2nd, 7:10PM VRT, 2004, the last bits of water were poured in!
The river was measured by string, and it clocks in at 11,980 coordinates long, or about 74.5 miles long.
Each coordinate of river is about 32 objects, which makes the river about 383,000 objects. Congrats to all who worked on this Alphaworld landmark, surely AW’s longest river.

note: river’s width exaggerated in picture.
Summary of building activity
For those of you who don’t check the forums regularly, here’s what’s been going on in SW City in the building department.
Syntax has been resuming work on the subways, and is building a station on eastern Hyokia Island, with an industrial theme. Before that, he was working on little projects within Ilexus forest.
Ferruccio has been working hard on Castle Pines – the new suburb who’s current theme is an upper class residential area in a golf course environment. 8 holes of the golf course are done and he’s working his way southwest.
I’ve recently started working in Industry again. Right now I’m working on TID – Trinadon Industry District, a high tech industry area on western Velothi Island right off Highway 10. Before that, Three Bells Seaport was made on the southern tip of the island. And before that, much work was done on Sharman Caves, part 2 (which is still in the works).
CMM is still working around eastern Hyokia industry area. Right now he’s working on a chipfab factory, named MAD Semiconductors, maker of the CPUs that power those lil’ comp1.rwx’s ^,^
Vornox has been working Plaza90 in Cypris Creek. Nutinmuch has been working on various projects along the outer shores. Chris Cat has a HQ in the works on Velothi.
UTL Updated
The Universal Teleport list had been given a face lift. A handful of teleports have been updated. But more importantly, the UTL system in general has changed. You’ll notice that comments and simple ASCII art have been added to make it easier to install and understand (does not effect AW browser).
From now on, new additions to the list will be at the bottom, and a comment will be placed above it to show the date they were added.
I also went through the list and was quite surprised at all the errors overlooked for all this time. I removed some unneeded teleports, fixed a couple typos, and renamed a few.
You can download the UTL in the downloads section, or click here.
Pextures
A new service is available to SW City – Pextures.
Pextures are custom textures that can be used on picture objects. Most of these are made for walkways, where they can be of most use; though there are some brick textures that can be suited for walls.
Currently, about half of the pextures are imported from other worlds, and are then edited to look like a regular textures when placed on a picture object. The other half are either extremely manipulated textures, or entirely new ones made by yours truly ;D
There is a temporary display set up at AW 1772S 4675E
A more permanent and user friendly directory will be setup at a later date.
