Where did Alphaworld go?
Alphaworld has been down for much of this week for ongoing maintenance. Tom (Flagg) noted on the AW Forums that “AW is down for maintenance as we work on repairing the world’s mover system.“
A timetable has not been given on when the world will be restored. However, in the meantime, the Universal Immigration Officer message encourages us all to check out some of the other public building worlds, which isn’t a bad idea. Have you seen Mars, Yellow, or Winter lately?
Ultimate AW User Guide (v1.0)
I’ve updated the Ultimate Teleport List again, cept this time I’ve transformed it into something bigger. The Ultimate AW User Guide now makes great use of the User Guide tab and has transformed it into something extremely useful for a general audience.
This user guide contains most all topics that the general AW user will be exposed to, and a myriad of teleports also. Still heavily SW City biased, but it’s getting pretty broad. Topics included range from simple to advanced building topics, bots and the sdk, and even various gaming worlds.
SUT HUD in Alphaworld
http://awportals.com/chronicles/article.php?a=293
A HUD icon for Scarabian User Terminals has been added to the HUD on the bottom-right of the screen for global chat users. In order to access the SUT icon, you must be listed in the #swcity chat channel.
You can do this by saying ^jc #swcity anywhere in Alphaworld.
Thanks a lot for the great add, Mark!
New SW City Gallery online
Check out a new prototype gallery I’m putting together. It’s about time that old screenshot gallery on swcity.net be replaced
Onest Bridge Complete
The major infrastructure project connecting Seawing Island (aka the Imperial Strand) and Sybit Island has recently been completed. Awesome work Ferruccio for the epic engineering

Building Boom
There has been a building surge in SW City to the likes not seen in…years? There is building activity all across the lands, and people have been populating the chat channels to a respectable number for the past 3 or 4 weeks.
– Ferruccio has resumed construction on Stocksburg, the urban area of Sybit Island
– Sequini Manager Joshua is back now that his computer is repaired, and is busy renovating Sequini Isles Precinct
– I’ve been constructing new cityscape in and around the perimeters of town square park
– Dash567, C u r t i s, and Silverliner has been busy on Bueny Island, working on their respective sub-divisions of Phoenix Estates, Windmill Expanse, and Port Bueny.
– S e v e n s and hicks8 have been working on Greensville, to the far east of SW City
– Baro has of course been working on a new expansion in Zelena
– Hyper Anthony and Espilae has been working on new upcoming SWI content and assisting with the new developments
– Citizens have also been working out in the new building areas around Rising Glen Retreat and Elkins Beach
– Cactus Jack has been toiling away on a new impressive railway network in Akureyri, west of SW Island
– Byte has been working on some upcoming projects that will prove useful for builders, as well some progress on Getyolb, east of Zelena
Keep up the good work everyone
Phoenix Coast Founded
A new sub-division in SW City, located on the east coast of Bueny Penisula, has been founded. Phoenix Coast is headed up by Dash567 and can be located at 2011s 5004e.
Winter Building Competition Registration Closes Soon
http://forums.activeworlds.com/showthread.php?t=11893
Winter’s building contest will close registration in three days. After July 23, no new applicants can enter. This building competition is sponsored by AWI and v4 rights in public building worlds are rewarded to pretty much anyone who makes a quality build.
So if you’re thinking about jumping in the fray… time’s running out. If you want to participate, you can apply on the AW Forums.
SWI Item Updates
If you were on yesterday you may have noticed the resource nodes were down. This was due to the new item restructuring going on behind-the-scenes. Under the new system, items can now have multiple conditions and are manipulatable. This means you can expect to see some more interesting tools and equipment to be released sooner or later. Items can accept per-user modifications now, meaning an item upgrade shop may be opening business around town square park later this week
Due to the drastic changes in equipment, all equipment had to be unequip again. Please remember to re-equip your gear. A system feature has been implemented to prevent you from needing to do this again in future updates.
