There has been a building surge in SW City to the likes not seen in…years? There is building activity all across the lands, and people have been populating the chat channels to a respectable number for the past 3 or 4 weeks.
– Ferruccio has resumed construction on Stocksburg, the urban area of Sybit Island
– Sequini Manager Joshua is back now that his computer is repaired, and is busy renovating Sequini Isles Precinct
– I’ve been constructing new cityscape in and around the perimeters of town square park
– Dash567, C u r t i s, and Silverliner has been busy on Bueny Island, working on their respective sub-divisions of Phoenix Estates, Windmill Expanse, and Port Bueny.
– S e v e n s and hicks8 have been working on Greensville, to the far east of SW City
– Baro has of course been working on a new expansion in Zelena
– Hyper Anthony and Espilae has been working on new upcoming SWI content and assisting with the new developments
– Citizens have also been working out in the new building areas around Rising Glen Retreat and Elkins Beach
– Cactus Jack has been toiling away on a new impressive railway network in Akureyri, west of SW Island
– Byte has been working on some upcoming projects that will prove useful for builders, as well some progress on Getyolb, east of Zelena

I’ve been waiting on Syntax for some of our tag-team projects for… awhile…
Syntax doesn’t even use his computer anymore much less AW
I do have to say that the whole history as to how things have played out is very interesting to me right now. Back in 1995, virtual worlds were all the buzz! The future, they said. People all logging onto their computers to chat with each other in a virtual representation. Computer games were all the craze, not those ‘simplistic’ console games.
Then PDAs and Cell Phones became one, desktops were replaced by laptops and now netbooks, consoles reign supreme for gaming. All my friends who refused to even touch a console now have several and easily spend more time on them than the computer (for gaming or otherwise). Video game consoles are replacing entire home media centers. People are claiming Twitter and Facebook are the future, while MySpace dies and less friends seem to be on instant messengers than ever beyond. 8-year olds wouldn’t dare not have a cell phone with an integrated camera, texting, and games.
What happened? Syntax has been kidnapped! And basically all of society.

Why the hell do 8-year-olds need cellphones period? I didn’t have one until I could drive, mainly so I could call for help in case anything happened.
Ditto here. And in terms of work phones, the question becomes does work ever really end? When your cell phone receives e-mails you feel a little obligated to reply to them on the spot… even if it isn’t work hours. Yet a lot of jobs these days are a lot of answering e-mails.
I’m assuming 8-year olds need cell phones so at a time of your choosing MADCorps MasterMind Computer can call them all up and turn them into hypnotic slaves for your world domination scheme. >
