The long-awaited mapping tool for Alphaworld (properly named AlphaMapper) has been released to the public. You can view that map at http://www.imabot.com/alphamapper/. A big thanks goes out to RoadKill and crew who put many, many hours in bringing this project to life. Congrats guys.

Following up a recent discussion for it, Chris has created a demo video for AW, showing off the environmental potential that AW offers due to its mass, free tracts of land. You can view it here on YouTube. Nice work chris!

Just a small tid bit of news – per request, the max light radius in Alphaworld has been increased from 10m to 25m. This is big news for v4 right holders as you can use zones to darken an area and use lights to realistically light it back up.

Selanit has found a way to run Active Worlds on Linux, you can check out his procedure here.
The annual Active Worlds Reunion was held two weeks ago in Denver, Colorado and a few pictures and stories have surfaced for all to read. SW Chris has written four indepth blog entires detailing the adventures the reunioners had and a few have posted pictures at this flickr account.

For those of you who have ventured into SW City over the past few months, you may have noticed a city wide bot networked called [Scaranet]. This was in fact a lil’ bot that I programmed as an experiment to see how well I could program a bot.
What it does is it allows people in different places to communicate with each other. This is especially useful in places like Alphaworld which doesn’t allow global bots, or for inter-world communication or for people who want a private chat channel.
