SWI Item Updates

If you were on yesterday you may have noticed the resource nodes were down. This was due to the new item restructuring going on behind-the-scenes. Under the new system, items can now have multiple conditions and are manipulatable. This means you can expect to see some more interesting tools and equipment to be released sooner or later. Items can accept per-user modifications now, meaning an item upgrade shop may be opening business around town square park later this week

Due to the drastic changes in equipment, all equipment had to be unequip again. Please remember to re-equip your gear. A system feature has been implemented to prevent you from needing to do this again in future updates.

Professor Basil Looking for Workers

SWanford University has made it public that Professor Roger Basil is looking for some help.  He’s not in the typical ivy league environment, though.  Nope — he’s built up somewhat of a shack in the wilderness of the Southern Highlands.  To find out what Basil needs, you can visit him at his home east of the Rising Glen Real Estate Office.

Or you can just say ^jump Berry Hut in-world.  One of the two

Resource node updates

A new update has been pushed to resource nodes in SWI, as part of a systematic update we’re working on for SWI 5.0.

Resource nodes now use 1/4 the amount of time credits as before, the tradeoff being that they now also use Stamina Points (SP). Players recieved 1,000 SP, and regenerate 250 every 15 minutes to fully recharge within an hour. Unlike time credits, SP can be replenished aside from waiting. An array of SP replenishing items will be available soon, but for now check the vending machines

Note that since you can potentially bring in 4x more resources per day, the loot tables (which determine what you dig up) have changed. There are a dozen new lesser value items added (aka junk items), making the higher value goods a bit more rare.

Equipment has also changed:

– Worn equipment now affects stamina instead of time credits.
– Tools still affect time credits as before
– Aggression tools use less time, but more stamina
– Precision tools use more time, but less stamina

Concerning New Players…

A new activities pavilion has been added to the quest wing of the SW City Interactive Headquarters in Town Square Park.  Once completing the Beginner’s Quest, players can browse this area to become acquainted with other features of SW City Interactive and to gain clues on where to earn flint, and even find other quests.

This addition is likely a temporary fix, as we in the development team are working towards revamping the beginning of the game to give more direction and story to the player.  In the meantime, we would like to hear your suggestions! A poll has been added to the SW City Community forum so we can get ideas from the community concerning gameplay.  Let us know what you think!

Take out the trash…

…because the trash nodes around the park are now active, after all these months
Talk to Hal the garbageman over at the parking lot on the west side of the park to get started.
